George & Lana's Backyard Bar

 The Back Yard Bar (home of BYB Records) was opened on November 17th in 2003.  Thanks to several friends, we started and finished remodeling the bar in two weeks. Paul and I picked up the coolers and equipment in Nashville while recording there and hauled it all back here.  The tables are old "Friday's" red and white striped tables. When the weather permits, it's an open air bar.  It's casual and laid back, with lots of good friends, laughs, and cold beer.

The Back Yard Bar is a friendly bar.  We do not tolerate bad behavior. It is a nice place for anyone to come by and visit, sip on a cold beverage, shoot a game of pool, or listen to music.  The easy going atmosphere makes the bar a good music hangout for us. On Friday nights we play live music.     

Paul does some of his writing and works on music during off hours.  He just shows up when he wants to, picks and sings a little, and then moseys back out. 

If you get a chance, stop by and see us.  We are open Monday night through Friday night.  We open at 5:00 p.m. and just have a great time until it's time to close.  We are not open on Saturday night. (I know it's crazy, but oh, well) Be sure and come by to say 'Hello" if you are in our part of the country.  You must be at least 21 years of age to enter and your I.D. is required to purchase alcoholic beverages.

Finding directions: From the junction of 259 and Hwy 4 at Smithville, Oklahoma take Hwy 4 for approximately 1.5 miles.  (If you cross Mountain Fork River bridge you have gone too far. Turn around and start over)  Turn left at the Back Yard Bar sign or if the wind has blown the sign down (it's the second paved road to the right after the entrance to Beaver's Bend North Resort).  Drive till you get to the end of the road (literally). Don't worry, it's not far, just 1/4 of a mile or so.  If you still can't find us, call 580-244-3315 and we'll talk you through it)  Hope to see you soon!
